I'm a guitarist, composer, audio engineer, and private guitar instructor. Currently I am playing with Infinite Spectrum and recording my own music at home.

Autobio

I always knew that I would be a musician. In fact, its quite inevitable! Music always made me feel a certain way, and quite early on I resolved to grow up able to make others feel that way as well. When I was about 10, I took up singing and by 12 bought a mic with a stand and PA system. Life as a teen was stressful singing rock music was great therapy! By 16, I was influenced to buy an electric guitar, thanks to how fast a good friend of mine progressed at it. Playing the guitar opened me up to a world of music. I would quickly dive into thrash metal, such as Metallica and Megadeth.I had a guitar class in high school. At that point, I played for about 6 months and found I had more experience than anyone in my class. Seeing this, my teacher had me assist the students in learning what was assigned. This was my first teaching experience. Soon thereafter, my stepfather wanted me to teach his daughter as a birthday gift to her. Since then I have read many books on teaching and music theory and have taught many grateful students over the years.Soon my curiosity took me to the other side of the glass. I decided to go to audio school to become an audio engineer. After enrolling at the Institute of Audio Research and completing the program there, I ran my own project studio, and record locals for a while. Although I did not end up being a full time engineer, studying audio and acoustics proved very helpful in presenting my music to my audience. Eventually I joined and gigged with a local thrash band named Speed Assault. As my tastes evolved, I couldnt stay confined to the bands purist thrash visions. I found a few guys doing something that was more open. I joined a band named Grunes Herz. We gigged a lot, and thanks to the Emergenza Festival competitions, we got to the semifinals and played Webster Hall.Due to differences, and yet another urge to expand even further, I left the band and finally formed my own with bassist Alex Repetti. Our writing chemistry was and remains unlike anything I have ever experienced in the past. We would continually compose and search for members. Were still searching diligently for a suitable keyboardist and drummer to complete our lineup. We chose the name Infinite Spectrum and are almost done recording our debut 80 minute concept album. After audio school, I had finished a degree in performing arts at Kingsborough Community College then my BA in music at the City College of New York. I plan to study until I have a Ph.D. in Music. At that point I will likely become a professor while still pursuing my musical goals.Aside from the band, I am always dealing with music and playing with many different musicians. I plan to release my own material when time allows. I believe music is like life, you never know where it will take you. All you can do is come along for the ride!-AR-
